Senior Project Engineer Location: Columbus, OH Travel: Approximately 20–30% Position Overview A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support capital projects, process improvements, equipment installations, facility upgrades, and automation initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations.
This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams and site leadership to help drive operational improvement, continuous improvement, and successful execution of moderately complex engineering projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, preparation, and execution of capital projects, process improvements, equipment installations, and facility upgrades.Develop and manage project budgets, scopes of work, schedules, and overall project plans.Prepare and present capital funding requests and project documentation to senior leadership.Coordinate cross-functional teams through design reviews, risk assessments, and PPAP preparation/execution.Monitor project risks, resolve issues, and provide direction and support to project teams.Communicate project status, timelines, metrics, and key updates to stakeholders and leadership.Provide troubleshooting and technical support to manufacturing and engineering teams as needed.Support multiple facilities through transformation, continuous improvement, and operational enhancement initiatives.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required; 4-year ABET-accredited degree preferred.Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience.Manufacturing background with hands-on capital project experience required.Working knowledge of machine design, operating principles, repair, and troubleshooting practices.Understanding of applicable codes, standards, and product/process design techniques.Experience with 2D and 3D design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.Experience with PLC programming, robotics, and controls troubleshooting preferred.
