Position Overview

The Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Officer is responsible for leading the organization's global DEI strategy and embedding inclusive practices across all aspects of the business. The role focuses on building a diverse workforce, ensuring equitable policies and systems, and fostering an inclusive culture where all employees can thrive. The DEI Officer drives measurable progress in representation, belonging, fairness, and organizational accountability.

Key Responsibilities

DEI Strategy & Leadership

Develop and execute a comprehensive Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategy aligned with business objectives.

Define DEI vision, goals, metrics, and long-term roadmap.

Integrate DEI principles into all HR and business processes.

Workforce Diversity & Representation

Drive initiatives to improve diversity across hiring, promotion, and leadership pipelines.

Identify gaps in representation and implement targeted improvement programs.

Partner with talent acquisition to ensure inclusive hiring practices.

Equity in Policies & Practices

Review and improve HR policies to ensure fairness, equity, and transparency.

Ensure equitable access to opportunities, compensation, and career progression.

Identify and address systemic barriers within organizational processes.

Inclusive Culture & Engagement

Foster a culture of belonging, inclusion, and psychological safety.

Lead employee resource groups (ERGs) and inclusion networks.

Design programs that strengthen employee engagement and inclusion awareness.

Learning, Training & Awareness

Develop and deliver DEI training programs for leaders and employees.

Build inclusive leadership capabilities across the organization.

Promote awareness of unconscious bias, cultural competence, and inclusive behaviors.

Data, Analytics & Reporting

Define DEI metrics and track progress across workforce demographics and inclusion indicators.

Analyze employee data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement areas.

Report DEI progress to executive leadership and the Board.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

Engage with external partners, NGOs, academic institutions, and advocacy groups.

Represent the organization in DEI forums and industry initiatives.

Strengthen community impact through inclusion-focused partnerships.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with HR, talent acquisition, leadership, operations, and business units.

Embed DEI principles into product development, customer experience, and operations.

Support organizational change and transformation initiatives.

Governance & Accountability

Establish governance frameworks to ensure DEI accountability across the organization.

Ensure compliance with relevant equal opportunity and labor regulations.

Advise leadership on DEI risks and opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.

12–15+ years of experience in DEI, HR leadership, organizational development, or social impact roles.

Proven experience leading large-scale DEI transformation programs.

Strong understanding of workforce analytics, organizational behavior, and inclusion frameworks.
