Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee construction projects from start to finish. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate all on-site activities, ensure adherence to safety standards, manage subcontractors and suppliers, and maintain project schedules and budgets. Your expertise will drive project success by supervising construction teams, interpreting blueprints and schematics, and implementing quality control measures. This role manages shop personnel, coordinates production schedules, and serves as a key link between management, engineering, and field operations.

Duties

Oversee daily construction site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Supervise all shop floor activities including cutting, welding, fitting, and assembly

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to guide onsite activities.

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.

Monitor quality control processes to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.

Manage site safety protocols in accordance with OSHA regulations; conduct safety meetings and inspections regularly.

Supervise construction crews, providing leadership, direction, and performance feedback.

Track project costs, perform budgeting tasks, and manage contracts to optimize resources.

Conduct regular site inspections using equipment like ohmmeters for electrical testing; ensure all work meets technical requirements.

Maintain accurate records of progress reports, incident reports, change orders, and other project documentation.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising large-scale projects.

Extensive on-site construction experience across various phases of infrastructure or commercial projects.

Proficiency with construction management software including Primavera P6, ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other relevant tools.

Strong knowledge of contracts management, project scheduling, budgeting, and blueprint reading.

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise diverse teams effectively.

Excellent communication skills for coordinating with stakeholders at all levels.

Knowledge of OSHA safety standards; ability to enforce safety protocols rigorously.

Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately; experience with construction estimating is a plus.

Management experience in construction environments with a focus on quality control and project delivery excellence

Team Leadership

Lead, train, and evaluate foremen, welders, fitters, and laborers

Enforce accountability, productivity, and craftsmanship standards

Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety meetings

Quality Control

Ensure all fabrication meets drawings, specifications, and industry codes

Coordinate inspections and address non-conformance issues

Maintain documentation for quality assurance

Working Conditions

Primarily in a fabrication shop environment (exposure to noise, heat, and heavy equipment)

May require extended hours, weekends, or travel depending on project demands
