AWS SRE/Big Data Admin

Senior Data Infrastructure Admin

The Senior Data Infrastructure Admin is responsible for orchestrating, deploying, maintaining and scaling cloud infrastructure targeting big data and platform data management in AWS.

Experience Required

5-8 Years Experience:

Infrastructure Engineer with a hands-on experience.

Scripting and process Automation experience Required

Extensive knowledge of Java/J2EE methodology and frameworks

Extensive UNIX AIX or Linux and Scripting experience

Extensive knowledge of WebSphere MQ

Extensive knowledge of MQ Series

Very strong verbal and written communication skills (Critical)

Ability to facilitate technical requirements gathering and design sessions

Collaborate and interpret business and technical needs

Excellent attention to detail and quality work products (Critical)

Strong customer service skills with internal and external customers (Critical)

Must be able to perform assigned tasks with minimum supervision (Critical)

Strong analytical and documentation skills

Excellent time management ability. (Critical)

3 Years or more AWS Experience:

Seeking 3+ years experience in designing, hands on setting up including golden image (AMI), and administering EC2 and EBS in AWS

Working knowledge of one of scripting languages (Python, etc.)

Experience in designing and implementation of Data replication, application scalability and high-availability architecture

Experienced in Query optimization and database tuning skills

Experienced in UNIX shell scripting, PL/SQL, and SQL skills

Knowledge and experience with related AWS data offerings

Working Knowledge of related AWS real-time streaming offerings like Kinesis or Managed Services Kafka (MKS)

Experience with Big Data like Hadoop and Cloudera as an admin such as implement and support streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark & Kudu is a big plus

Experience with NOSQL database (MongoDB or DynamoDB) is a big plus

The candidate should have hands and demonstrable work experience, but not limited to the following AWS Databases / Analytics: 1. RedShift 2. RDS 3. DynamoDB

The candidate should have excellent working experience on the following AWS Storage Services: 1. S3 2. S3 Glacier 3. EBS

The candidate should have deep understanding and Knowledge on the following AWS Security/ Identity and Compliance: 1. IAM 2. CloudWatch 3. CloudTrail 4. CloudFormation

The qualified candidate should be able work independently with little direction from the lead engineer.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate out of the box thinking and should be able to optimize the day-to-day support.
