Job Description

Plans and executes activities related with development, application, adherence, and maintenance of quality standards, customer satisfaction, and operating systems compliance. The preferred candidate will have direct Tier I and Tier II Supplier experience, focused in supporting OEM standards, including but not limited to the following customers: BMW, VW and MBUSI

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Must have experience in metal stamping and weld assembly in the automotive industry

· Direct management experience, preferably with hourly team members is preferred

· Working knowledge of GD&T with the ability to interpret CMM dimensional reports and make recommendations for production parts, samples, and prototypes as required by the quality system

· Experience with AIAG core tools; APQP, PPAP, MSA & SPC, FMEA, and Control Plans

· Must be able to collaborate with the appropriate resources to effectively problem solve through resolution

· Experience working through customer VDA audits

· Strong working knowledge of problem-solving tools including; 8D, 5Why, Pareto charts (cause and effect) and Ishikawa diagrams

· Responsible for investigating internal concerns along with external customer concerns, implementing corrective action and validating the root cause as needed

· Proactively investigate ways to improve the process to reduce waste, scrap and customer concerns

· Travel to customers and Suppliers when required for problem solving and containment activities

· Provide feedback on dimensional reports to Tooling, Engineering and Production teams

· Work with production associates to assure the proper usage of measurement instruments on the production floor

· Must have experience with IATF and/or VDA audit processes, policies and procedures

· Must work safely as a condition of employment

· Must be available as business requirements dictate, which may include working at different days and times

· Perform other related duties as required

Education/Experience/Certifications:

To effectively carry out duties and responsibilities in the job position the following education, experience, or certifications are preferred:

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study from four year college or university, required

Experience:

· Three (3) or more years of experience working in the Quality function in an automotive manufacturing environment, preferred

· Two (2) or more years of experience working in a fast paced automotive (OEM/Supplier) environment, preferred

· Experience working through the IATF certification and audit process, preferred

Additional Skills Required:

Computer skills:

· Experience with basic computer systems (i.e. MS Office, Outlook, etc.) and preferred experience with Plex

Communication skills:

· Strong Communication skills; written and verbal

· Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.

· Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Mathematical skills:

· Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as basic algebra

Other Skills:

· Detail oriented

· Organized and able to meet deadlines while performing multiple duties
