Slitter Operator

Job Description

Set up and operate slitting equipment according to customer specifications and production schedules

Perform complete machine setups including knives, spacers, tension pads, and recoiling configurations

Operate overhead cranes to safely load and unload metal coils

Monitor slitting operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency

Perform cut-to-length and recoiling operations as required

Inspect slit material for defects including burrs, scratches, camber, edge quality, and dimensional accuracy

Utilize calipers, tape measures, and precision measuring tools to verify specifications

Read and follow work orders, blueprints, and production instructions

Maintain production output while ensuring safety and quality standards are met

Troubleshoot minor machine issues and assist with basic preventative maintenance

Maintain a clean and organized 5S work environment

Work closely with team members to ensure smooth production flow and machine performance

You should be proficient in:

Equipment Troubleshooting

Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills

Deburring Experience

Machine Geometry & Alignment

Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
