What You'll Do

Coordinate best practices with students by encouraging safety and promoting productive work and study habits.

Assist with daily routine tasks such as cafeteria duty, hall duty, and checking student work. Along with fire drills and other building security procedures, as needed

Prepare instructional materials upon request.

Perform designated learning tasks with students, going over lessons, topics, and exercises; demonstrate lessons, ask questions, and prompt students for answers.

Monitor classroom activities, including drawing, writing, and independent study.

Escort students on field trips and around school as needed.

Maintain bulletin boards, student records for attendance, lunch choices, and classroom supplies.

Work with students requiring individual or close attention.

Provide coverage for the program’s Alternative Learning Area (as assigned).

What You'll Bring To The Table

An associate degree or passing the para pro exam.

2 years’ experience working with children.

General knowledge of classroom teaching practices, methods, and techniques.

Strong interpersonal skills for dealing effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

Proficiency with standard office, word processing, and data processing equipment.

Pay: 42,000k

Expected Hours of work : 37.5

Each year, CCP staff directly support more than a thousand Connecticut families. Employees work within interdisciplinary teams alongside clinicians, educators, and advocates to address real-world challenges affecting safety, education, and long-term independence.
