General Responsibilities

Successfully operate a range of earthwork and utility equipment, including:

Track hoes & Backhoes

Track Loaders & Wheel Loaders

Bulk and Finish Grade Dozer (with or without GPS guidance)

Scrapers and Off-Road Dump Trucks

Compactors (pad foot and smooth drum)

Other Misc. Equipment (water trucks, skid steers, tractors)

Daily inspection of equipment for damages or safety issues

Maintain and clean operator station and tracks on daily basis.

Prestart oil/fluid level checks and monitoring of temp/pressure gauges throughout shift. Report any defects to foreman and/or maintenance dept.

Ensure safe working conditions are maintained and follow safe operating procedures as outlined by operation manual and supervisor

Perform other tasks as directed by site foreman.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Reliable transportation to/from various job sites around the Columbus area

Knowledge of safe operating procedures of various types of equipment

Knowledge of layout staking, grades, and benchmarks

Ability to maintain a high level of awareness and operate in a safe manner at all times

Ability to retain and apply information and instructions provided by the site foreman

OSHA 10 Hour and knowledge of safe working procedures in sitework and trenching applications
