Job Description
We are hiring a "Construction Director" who leads the Operations for an Engineering Services Firm, overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of all projects across civil, electrical, mechanical, and design-build disciplines. This role ensures that projects meet technical, financial, safety, and quality standards while supporting the company's strategic growth.
SALARY: $80,000 - $98,000 per year
SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday 8 am - 5 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead daily operations of the Construction Division, aligning execution with company goals, KPIs, and performance standards.
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of multiple construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and scope.
- Direct Project Managers, safety/quality teams, and field supervisors to ensure accountability, productivity, and operational excellence.
- Approve project plans, methodologies, budgets, estimates, change orders, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate across engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to optimize resources and resolve issues proactively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, federal agencies, and key stakeholders; lead meetings and negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EM-385-1-1, NEC, and applicable codes).
- Monitor financial performance, review forecasts, control costs, and approve major expenditures.
- Drive continuous improvement, workforce development, and staffing strategies across the division.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 10–15 years of construction experience, including leadership of multiple projects and teams.
- Experience with federal projects (USACE, NAVFAC, AFCEC) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and safety regulations.
- PMP or similar certification is a plus.
- Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to travel to project sites.
