Full-Time Driver

Full-Time $45,000 - $50,000/year Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, Maryland

As our Full-Time Driver, you will be the backbone of our food distribution network—ensuring families receive nutritious food through safe, reliable, and timely delivery.Primary Role: Driver

This is first and foremost a driving position. You will be responsible for the safe, reliable transportation of food and supplies across our service area.

Operate a 26-foot box truck to transport food and supplies between warehouses, food markets, and partner sites across Prince George’s, Montgomery, and Howard counties

Maintain a safe driving record and adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and KGCDC vehicle policies

Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; report maintenance needs promptly

Plan and execute efficient daily routes to meet distribution schedules

Ensure all deliveries are handled carefully, on time, and accurately documentedSupporting Role: Warehouse & Inventory Assistance

When not on the road, you will assist with warehouse and inventory tasks to support overall operations.

Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming food products

Support inventory counts and help maintain accurate records

Help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment

Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment as needed

Collaborate with the Food Market Operations Manager, Hub Coordinators, and volunteers

Support weekend distribution activities on a flexible basis when neededWhat We’re Looking ForRequired

Valid Maryland Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Proven experience operating 26-foot trucks

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years of warehouse and/or logistics experience (food services industry preferred)

Forklift or equipment operation experience

Strong organizational and time management skills

Genuine passion for community service and fighting hungerPreferred

Bilingual or multilingual (Spanish highly valued)

Experience with SmartChoice Pantry or similar inventory management software

Background in community-based nonprofit organizationsWork Environment & Schedule

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)

Settings: On the road, warehouse, and outdoor environments year-round

Physical demands: Extended standing/walking; ability to lift heavy items with machinery assistanceWhat We Offer
