HiFyve is hiring a CNC Programmer in the aerospace manufacturing industry in Wichita, KS!
Shift: M-F 8am – 5pm
Pay: $35–$50/hr
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong CATIA V5 and Vericut experience to support large aerostructure part manufacturing. This role is ideal for someone with a strong machining background who enjoys programming complex, multi-axis parts while driving process improvements and cost efficiency—especially on large-scale components.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Provide numerical control (NC), machining, and programming expertise for large aerostructure parts (>20’)
Establish technical requirements for manufacturing and production processes
Plan, create, verify, and revise Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry, and documentation
Develop and integrate new machining techniques, manufacturing methods, and equipment
Design and plan tooling and fixtures for NC manufacturing
Create NC programs for multi-axis machines using CATIA V5 NC
Verify and simulate NC programs using Vericut
Optimize machining processes and programs for cost reduction and efficiency
Develop setup sheets and manufacturing instructions
Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to ensure quality and cost effectiveness
Manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and production goals
Generate NC programming using multiple programming languages
Spend approximately 75% of time programming and verifying NC code, and 25% on other engineering functions
Required Skills & Experience
3–5+ years of CNC programming experience required
Must have experience with CATIA V5 and Vericut
Experience programming large parts or complex aerostructures strongly preferred
Previous CNC machining or operator experience in an aerospace environment preferred
Strong understanding of machining processes, setups, and work holding principles
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Strong mechanical aptitude with solid problem-solving and reasoning skills
Proficient computer skills with ability to learn new software applications
Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) and configuration management principles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field preferred
Journeyman certification or equivalent experience considered
Must be a U.S. citizen or valid green card holder
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
100% onsite role in a manufacturing environment
Regular attendance required with adherence to safety programs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 15 lbs regularly, 30 lbs occasionally)
Extended periods of sitting and computer work required
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
Occasional overtime may be required
