Activity / Project Role: The State's California Statewide Automated Welfare System (CalSAWS) system going 'live' in 9 months in AWS (Amazon Web Services), the home-grown Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Advocacy application needs to be rewritten so it can operate in Amazon Web Services, using CalSAWS data. It also needs to be enhanced to provide newly required HDAP functionality. AWS is a new technology for TSS, and therefore there is a need for AWS application development expertise for approximately 9 to 12 months.

Typical Tasks

Review and comprehend the SSI / HDAP business requirements

Review and comprehend the CalSAWS data model related to SSI / HDAP Functionality

Review the existing SSI Application functionality and workflow

Redesign the Application's functionality so it can run and operate in AWS

Rewrite the application from scratch in C#,.Net, AWS environment

Test, document and deploy the application

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or equivalent with hands-on .Net programming experience

Technical Skills

Hands-on expertise with C# development (.Net core 3.1 or MVC preferred)

Experience developing.Net web application in AWS

Hands-on expertise working with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle (in AWS/RDS)

Experience in API design and development

Experience with AWS or Azure DevOps

Excellent communication skills

Experience

5 or more years work experience as a full stack.Net developer

3 or more years working with AWS, Azure DevOps, SQL /Server & Oracle Databases in RDS

Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Knowledge and expertise in JavaScript, CSS, APIs, GitHub, HTML
