Job Description Job Opportunity: CDL-A Local Driver Our organization is on the lookout for a safety-oriented CDL-A Local Driver to become a vital part of our Transportation & Logistics team.

This role supports our extensive network of supercenters that deliver groceries, apparel, electronics, and home goods throughout the Midwest.

As a local driver, you will be instrumental in ensuring our shelves are well-stocked and that our customers receive the products they require, precisely when they need them.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate a CDL-A tractor-trailer to transport freight between distribution centers and retail locations.Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logs.Follow all Hours-of-Service regulations.Ensure the safe loading, unloading, and securing of freight using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other necessary equipment.Protect product quality by adhering to food-handling and safety standards.Navigate busy docks, store lots, and local streets while practicing defensive driving to safeguard yourself, the public, and company property.Engage regularly with distribution center and store teams, showcasing professionalism and clear communication.Verify paperwork and manifests, report any discrepancies or issues, and promptly communicate delays, equipment concerns, or safety hazards.Collaborate closely with dispatch and transportation leadership to follow assigned routes and schedules, making adjustments as necessary to meet service and delivery expectations.Contribute to continuous improvement by adhering to established procedures and proposing practical ideas to enhance safety, efficiency, or customer satisfaction.Requirements and QualificationsValid CDL Class A license.Compliance with all DOT requirements.Proven track record of safe driving and reliability.Working Conditions This position involves operating late-model equipment primarily on local and regional routes, allowing you to return home daily.
