We are partnering with a well-established, privately held commercial real estate development firm to identify an Assistant Superintendent to support ground-up and renovation projects across the Columbus market.
This organization has decades of experience in commercial property development, construction, and asset management, with a strong pipeline of multifamily, retail, and mixed-use projects. They are known for a hands-on, full-cycle approach, overseeing everything from site selection and acquisition through construction and leasing
Job Description
The Assistant Superintendent will:
Assist in managing daily on-site construction activities
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site logistics
Monitor project schedules and help drive progress milestones
Enforce safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA standards
Conduct site walks, track quality control, and document progress
Support inspections and ensure work meets plans/specifications
Help resolve field issues and communicate updates to project stakeholders

The Successful Applicant
2-5+ years of experience in commercial construction (multifamily or mixed-use preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and site safety
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficiency with construction management software is a plus

Base salary of $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience
