Position Overview
The Safety Manager will lead all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives for a large aluminum manufacturing operation. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that ensure compliance with OSHA regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the facility.
This is a highly visible leadership role that will partner closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and plant leadership teams to reduce risk, improve employee engagement, and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all plant-wide safety initiatives and EHS programs
Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal safety regulations
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the facility
Develop and implement corrective actions and preventative safety measures
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
Manage safety training programs for hourly and salaried employees
Maintain and improve safety metrics including TRIR, near misses, and incident reporting
Partner with operations leadership to drive a proactive safety culture
Oversee lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, confined space, hot work, machine guarding, and contractor safety programs
Assist with workers compensation, return-to-work programs, and safety documentation
Ensure compliance with ISO-related safety procedures and company policies
Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
5+ years of Safety/EHS leadership experience within manufacturing
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards
Experience within heavy manufacturing, metals, extrusion, machining, automotive, or industrial production environments strongly preferred
Experience leading safety programs in a multi-shift manufacturing environment
Ability to conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions
Strong communication and leadership skills
Experience with continuous improvement and safety culture initiatives preferred
CSP, ASP, OHST, or similar certifications are a plus
