Senior Developer

Works independently on all tasks

Design, develop and maintain custom applications or configuration of corporate application systems and services.

Analyses and design application systems encompassing the development, modification and translation of user requirements.

Plans, investigates, and proposes systems and application solutions

Prepares workflow for writing, testing and maintain in computer programs.

Communicates effectively with product management, project management, and other stakeholders in preparation of application design specifications

Encodes, tests, debugs and installs the operating program and procedures in coordination with Operations and Infrastructure and Departments.

Corrects, tests and documents changes to existing programs.

Conducts training and presentation to users and other stakeholders.

Supports existing applications.

Leads small development teams on complex applications development efforts

Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.

At least 5-7 years working experience as a software developer and/or designer.

Programming Languages/Tools: COBOL, CICS, JCL, SQL, DB2

Environment: IBM Mainframe using TSO / ISPF.

Have knowledge or experience with MQ Series, EXCI, XML, SCLM, IBM Debug, MicroFocus Revolve, Tivoli

Hands-on experience in object-oriented language/frameworks (Java, C# and or JEE,.NET), RDBMS (Microsoft SQL or Oracle), and Web technologies including HTML/JavaScript.

Experience with one of the following Integrated Development Environment (IDE) –RDz, Eclipse, or Ms Visual Studio.

Advanced degree – MBA or MS

Self-motivated and interested in working closely with the business in support of transaction processing and financial services businesses.

Keen to explore software development and support in a high volume transaction processing environment or business systems.
