FLOAT PHLEBOTOMIST - Columbus, OH Hiring a full-time, experienced Float Phlebotomist with at least 3 to 5 years of high-volume venipuncture tenure to join our award-winning organization to travel around Columbus, OH.
Must be Certified Phlebotomy Tech, have active auto insurance, and previous travel or float experience.
Travel/Per Diem covered, mileage reimbursed; Overnight stays may be required.
Rate: $21.39/hr - $24.06/hr Based on experience > Additional pay: Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate ($0.73), time in car and miles driven Shift: Mon to Fri, 8-5 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 3 to 5 years of Phlebotomy experience & tenure Prior FLOAT or TRAVEL Phlebotomy experience Active CPT Certification High School Diploma Must have reliable transportation.
Active auto insurance.
Valid Driver's License with a minimum of 1 year driving experience.
Less than 3 minor moving violation convictions within the previous 3 years.
Overnight stays may be required.
JOB DUTIES: Travel to assignment within the designated region within short notice.
Ensures all field patient service and PSC specimens are collected accurately/on time.
Explain process of venipuncture & other specimen collection; Reduce patient anxiety by providing a calm environment for patients before, during and after.
Completes requisitions accurately.
Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing info.
Communicate to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e.
diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by the specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen.
Utilizes time appropriately.
Capable of maintaining fluctuating patient flow.
Displays courteous and professional behavior to clients, patients, and co-workers.
Communicates with co-workers and clients in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment.
Performs duties in an independent manner.
Contributes to a positive work climate and to the team effort of the department.
