This is a remote position.

About The Reed Corporation

The Reed Corporation is a fully remote CPA firm based in New York City. We prepare tax returns, handle bookkeeping and sales tax, and advise individuals and small businesses on the strategy questions that come up between filings.

About the role

This is the seat that keeps clients feeling taken care of. You are not a CPA preparing returns, you are the operator who makes sure every client knows what is happening with their work, what we need from them, and when. You sit between the client and the tax team for non-technical matters, and your job is to keep things moving without the client ever feeling chased or ignored.

Fully remote, full-time, EST hours.

What you will do

- Onboard new clients: walk them through the portal, e-signature tools, and document workflow, and set expectations on response times and deadlines

- Respond to client emails, portal messages, and calls within the same business day

- Chase missing documents (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, organizer responses)

- Track every open engagement in our practice management system, and flag delays to leadership before they become problems

- Route technical tax questions to the right accountant; do not try to answer them yourself

- Spot when a client could use bookkeeping, advisory, or planning work, and hand the lead to the right person

- Help with other administrative items for improving client experience

What we need

- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, accounting, or a related field

- At least 2 years of client-facing experience at a professional services firm (account management, customer success, EA at a law or accounting firm, or similar)

- Calm and professional under deadline pressure.

- Strong professional writing skills. Most of our work happens over email and portal messages.

- Familiarity with a CRM and a practice management system

- Some familiarity with tax or accounting terminology is a plus. We will teach the rest.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, accounting, finance, or a related field.

Experience

- At least 2 years of client-facing work at a professional services firm

- Strong written communication, especially over email and a client portal

- Comfort working in a CRM and a practice management system

- Calm, professional, and organized under deadline pressure
