Forklift Operator

Job Description

A forklift operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise. They are also responsible for loading and unloading trucks, containers, and other vehicles. The job description of a forklift operator typically includes the following tasks:

1. Operating a forklift to move materials and products within a warehouse or storage facility.

2. Loading and unloading trucks, containers, and other vehicles using a forklift.

3. Stacking and organizing merchandise in designated areas.

4. Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the forklift, including performing routine maintenance checks.

5. Inspecting and verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.

6. Maintaining inventory records and reporting any discrepancies or damages.

7. Following safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.

8. Assisting with general warehouse duties, such as picking and packing orders, as needed.

9. Communicating with supervisors and team members to coordinate work activities.

10. Adhering to company policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean and organized work area.

In addition to these tasks, a forklift operator may also be required to have a valid forklift operator certification and possess good communication and problem-solving skills. They should also be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects.
