Job Title: Power Electronics EngineerJob Description The Power Electronics Engineer designs, develops, and supports high-frequency, high-power electronic power conversion products used across multiple vehicle platforms.

This role works closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver efficient, compliant, and reliable power solutions for both new and existing products.

The engineer contributes throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and design through testing, troubleshooting, and support of legacy systems.

Responsibilities + Design and develop new high-frequency, high-power electronic power conversion products in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

+ Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing and legacy power electronics products across multiple vehicle platforms.

+ Create and maintain hardware specifications, circuit designs, theories of operation, and component selections based on defined design requirements.

+ Collaborate with PCB and Mechanical Engineers to develop product and power stage designs with a focus on efficiency, EMI containment, and thermal management.

+ Partner with Software Engineers to define and refine power stage control and protection strategies.

+ Review test results with Product Development Engineers and support the resolution of non-compliance issues to meet performance and regulatory requirements.

+ Support component selection, redesign, and requalification efforts when legacy components become obsolete or approach end-of-life.

+ Manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt effectively to shifting priorities and timelines.

+ Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.

+ Prepare technical documentation and communicate design intent clearly to engineering, manufacturing, and other stakeholders.

+ Travel occasionally as needed to support engineering, testing, or manufacturing activities.

Essential Skills + Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering or a closely related field.

+ 5-10 years of experience designing high-frequency, high-power electronic power conversion products.

+ Experience with LV DC-DC and HV DC-DC converters for vehicle applications.

+ Experience with DC-AC converters and motor drive systems for vehicle applications.

+ Hands-on experience with resonant conversion and soft-switched power topologies.

+ Experience designing custom magnetics for power electronics applications.

+ Proficiency with circuit simulation tools for analyzing and optimizing power electronic circuits.

+ Proficiency with thermal analysis for power electronics, including component and system-level thermal considerations.

+ Strong hardware design skills in power electronics, including power supply and power stage design.

+ Experience with electrical design and power systems in an automotive or vehicle-related context.

+ Ability to create clear hardware specifications, circuit documentation, and theories of operation.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively across engineering and manufacturing teams.

+ Familiarity with PCB design concepts and collaboration with PCB design engineers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working with high-voltage products in the range of approximately 700V to 2kV.

+ Experience working with high-current products in the range of approximately 10A to 600A.

+ Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as SAE, ISO, and UL.

+ Exposure to mobile industrial markets, including hybrid, battery electric, and fuel cell electric vehicles.

+ Familiarity with Altium PCB design software for schematic creation and markup.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to debugging and resolving technical issues.

Work Environment This role operates in a combined office and manufacturing environment.

The engineer works in office settings for design, analysis, documentation, and collaboration, and also spends time on the manufacturing floor to support product builds, testing, and troubleshooting.

The environment may include exposure to chemicals, dust, paint, and noise associated with manufacturing operations.

Use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment may be required when working in production or test areas.

The position involves close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and test personnel and requires comfort moving between desk-based design work and hands-on support in the factory setting.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hilliard, OH.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/yr.

Company has dental, medical, vision, 401k and some positions are bonus eligible.

Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Hilliard,OH.
