Bakery Manager Role:
Lead a full-scale scratch bakery operation

Plan, organize, and manage all bakery operations within a scratch production environment
Lead, train, and develop bakery staff to achieve sales, quality, and productivity goals
Oversee scratch baking production (breads, pastries, full-line offerings), ensuring consistency and excellence
Manage ordering, inventory, and product flow to minimize shrink and out-of-stocks
Drive sales through innovative merchandising, seasonal displays, and product mix optimization
Monitor pricing strategies to remain competitive while protecting margins
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and local regulatory standards
Oversee receiving, vendor relations, and invoice accuracy
Control departmental expenses, shrinkage, and waste
Plan staffing, schedules, and performance management in partnership with HR
Introduce new scratch-made products and stay current with market trends
Handle customer concerns professionally and maintain high service standards
Maintain equipment, cleanliness, and preventative maintenance programs
Conduct competitor analysis to stay ahead in pricing and merchandising
Bakery Manager Background Profile:
Required: Extensive scratch bakery experience (artisan breads, pastries, or full-line scratch production)
Proven experience as a Bakery Manager or senior bakery leader in retail or grocery environments
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
Deep understanding of production planning, inventory control, and merchandising strategy
Financial acumen with experience managing margins, shrink, and departmental budgets
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment
