About the role

Job Summary

The Tendering Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to sales teams and conducting technical analysis of product configurations to determine customer-specific pricing.

This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyze problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and submission of tenders in line with customer requirements, ensuring that tenders meet Sulzer commercial guidelines and have the necessary sign off in accordance with the Delegation of Authority

Work closely with Sales and Operations to provide cost effective, competitive solutions in line with Sulzer objectives

Provide support to the Sales teams related to tendering activities

Obtain the quotes from sub-vendors for Mechanical Seal / Motors / Instruments and other equipment / services.

Responsibility to ensure that customer requirements are satisfied whilst meeting Sulzer objectives

Overall responsibility for sustaining the profit margin on tenders

Follow up outstanding tenders with customers/sales agents in accordance with agreed Company requirements, and in conjunction with Sales teams and Conditions, TOA.

Update tender status to Customer Eva in Salesforce after issuing the tender, supported by Sales

Ensure application of Sulzer tools and compliance with policies, procedures, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines

Work closely with the Sales teams to optimize tenders, and to support maximization of conversion of tenders to orders

Proactively engage and support company initiatives designed to promote a culture of safe working, environmental protection and continual improvement

Work together with Operations to ensure smooth and efficient handover of tenders/orders

All other duties as relevant to the Tendering function

Skills & Qualifications

Typically a University degree (or equivalent work experience) and at least 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent skills) are required to carry out the role.

Relevant experience within related industry and products

Technical and commercial acumen.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple proposals.

Willingness to learn and adapt.

Knowledge of SAP or D365 or equivalent ERP
