Opportunity available for cooks (FT) 2nd shift 10am-6pm every Thursday-Monday. Laurel Heights Hospital is a 112-bed facility located in Atlanta, GA. We are dedicated to providing youth with compassionate mental health treatment that encourages self-responsibility and personal growth. We provide psychiatric treatment to children and adolescents that present with a broad range of psychiatric, behavioral disorders and autism. A clinically skilled multidisciplinary team works to partner with the youth and family to accomplish their goals in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
The cooks must be able to maintain self-control in volatile or hostile customer service interactions, concentrate on work amidst distractions, consistently meet deadlines, and finish all food preparation at specified serving time. They must be flexible in work hours in order to meet patient and organization operating needs. They must read and comprehend recipes or instructions on prepackaged products, read, convert and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe adjustments, use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers, work independently in a restricted physical environment for extended periods of time, perform several tasks concurrently, and maintain information as highly confidential.

Qualifications: Four years working experience as a cook in a similar setting working, ability to adjust recipes to achieve desired results, ability to read and comprehend recipes or instructions on prepackaged products, ability to read, convert and adjust mathematical measurements for recipe adjustments, knowledge of the essential hygiene factors involved in food preparation, knowledge of cleansing products and the appropriate methods of cleansing a variety of surfaces, ability to work independently in a restricted physical environment for extended periods of time, ability to perform several tasks concurrently, and skills in maintaining information as highly confidential. Licensure/certification preferred: successful completion of CPR certification, age-specific training and the current patient aggression management training within 90 days of employment.
