Supervisory Data Analytics Officer

The Supervisory Data Analytics Officer serves as a senior analytics advisor to the Directorate/Office Head, Assistant Director, Deputy Directorate/Office Head, and/or other senior organizational leadership, providing policy, scientific, and administrative expertise in assessing and addressing major collaborative initiatives and issues involving the Foundation's support of research, engineering, STEM education, research infrastructure, innovation, and other priority areas. The incumbent is expected to represent their Directorate/Office in policies and coordination activities. The incumbent coordinates on budget, planning matters, special studies, and reports.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Serves as a senior analytics advisor to Directorate/Office leadership, delivering data-driven insights to shape scientific priorities, program strategy, and organizational decision-making.

Leads the development and execution of enterprise data strategy, including governance, architecture, and analytics, to maximize the value of data assets and ensure compliance with federal data standards.

Applies advanced analytics (e.g., AI/ML, statistical modeling) to evaluate program performance, identify trends, and inform strategic planning and resource allocation.

Provides authoritative analyses to support budget formulation, long-range planning, and effective management of merit review, award, and post-award processes.

Represents the organization in internal and external forums, communicating analytical findings, advising on policy and program matters, and engaging with stakeholders across the scientific community.

Leads cross-organizational initiatives, special studies, and program reviews; collaborates with senior leadership to align data, programmatic, and operational strategies.
