Assembler 2nd Shift

Assembler Position in Freeport, Illinois

Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join their team as an Assembler to work full-time on 2nd shift. In this role, you will support production and shipping operations by handling materials, packaging products, and ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the assembly and packaging process.

Responsibilities of the Assembler:

Handle, stack, and organize materials carefully to prevent damage.

Perform packaging, crating, and handling of hardware components.

Use barcoding systems and ERP software to track materials and inventory.

Operate hand tools and equipment used in wood crating and packaging.

Support shipping activities by preparing materials for outbound orders.

Maintain accurate inventory and documentation.

Work collaboratively within a multi-functional work cell to meet production goals.

Follow all safety, quality, and work instructions at all times.

Assembler Requirements and Qualifications:

1–3 years of experience in a material handling, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.

Knowledge of packaging standards and techniques to prevent freight damage.

Familiarity with barcoding systems and ERP software.

Ability to operate hand tools used in packaging and crating.

General understanding of shipping practices and documentation.

Forklift experience and certification preferred.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.

Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime when required.

Pay for Assembler: $18.50/hour plus $1.75/hour 2nd shift differential.
