Sewing Machine Operator

Description of responsibilities:

This position guides garments or garment parts under machine needles and presser foot pedals to sew parts together.

Operate single needle sewing machines to perform basic sewing steps.

Align fabric, garments and materials under needles using guides, marks on machines, and notches as guides.

Trim excess threads from garments after sewing, using scissors, nippers, or automatic trimming machines.

Identify problems that arise with material and/or machines.

Work with leads towards meeting performance standards.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

All other duties assigned.

Physical requirements:

Ability to sit long periods of time

Prolonged periods of twisting and turning at workstation

Ability to lift up to 20lbs.
