Position Summary: Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other Company facilities. Manages the work of other employees. Coordinates with building contractors and ensures building safety and adherence to applicable building codes. Plans utilization of space and facilities for Company consistent with requirements for efficiency, and available facilities and funds. Plans, directs and manages all phases of equipment and machinery maintenance, facilities modification and building projects from the design concepts through implementation. Ensures project requirements are defined, contract and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified. Keeps in compliance with and abreast of all OSHA regulations. Manages the Receiving function. May also have responsibility for the administrative services and mailroom. Manages and implements energy management/utility consumption improvement programs. Performs environmental hazard management/planning and remediation. Establishes and maintains equipment and system standards. Issues RFP's to contractors for equipment and systems maintenance. Explores and solicits alternative options for products and services to maintain high standards at Corporate office and opportunities to reduce budgetary expenses. Oversees construction and renovation projects to improve efficiency and to ensure that facilities meet environmental, health, and security standards, and comply with government regulations. Prepares and monitors annual department budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Responsible for keeping all ALIGN equipment in good working condition • Responsible to get downed equipment back up and running in a timely manner • Responsible to assign tasks to staff based on needs, skill level, and capacity • Responsible for PM compliance, schedule, and accuracy • Establish, monitor, and use KPI’s as tools to train and improve outputs • Maintain, organize, and 5S maintenance shop, weld shop, and office • Coordinate with outside vendors, repair tech’s, OEM’s, as needs arise • Manage budgets, submit ROI’s, place purchase req’s, and facilitate on hand supplies • Coordinate with Facilities Manager on projects that require facilities infrastructure and maintenance needs • Approve payroll, person leave requests, and overtime • Oversee and train other maintenance staff • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: • Experience and Education: o 5-7 years of relevant experience o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Technical Skills: o Excellent attention to detail o Knowledge in a variety of mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines o Knowledge of location and proper use of maintenance/facilities, tooling, supplies and equipment o Able to read and interpret schematics and blue prints o Comfortable operating heavy equipment and power tools o Forklift certification o Mastery of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions) o Problem solving abilities o Ability to use calipers, micrometers, etc. o Strong teamwork and communication skills to get along with co-workers and be a team player o Understand and obey safety requirements o Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
Physical Requirements: o Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs or more o Frequently required to handle; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl o Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus o Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Supervisory Responsibilities: • Manages subordinate management and/or experienced professionals who exercise significant latitude and independence. • Often heads one or more departments. • Plans, conducts and supervises assignments, generally involving larger and more important projects or multiple projects. • Evaluates and determines changes in methods or procedures in assigned area of responsibility. • Determines candidates for employment/termination • Conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff • Responsible for the application of company policies
