Job Description
Vesuvius USA, a world leader in the design, engineering, manufacturing and delivery of refractory products, systems and services for high-technology industrial applications, is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor to handle our Champaign, Illinois location.
Purpose:
Ensure the continuous operation of the production lines, in regard of equipment and facility availability/reliability.
Key Results Areas:
Coordinating the day-to-day operation of the plant including the leading and directing of the maintenance work force.
Report KPIs – PM/CM, Downtime, Break down reasons, MTBF, MTTR, etc.
Work with CMMS for closing orders, setting PMs, updating equipment/PM data, spare parts management, tools management.
Assist maintenance tech employees with difficult repair problems, training employees to perform repairs without assistance.
Participate in daily results meetings, provide feedback on equipment reliability, failure root causes and action plans to the team.
Place Purchase Requisition of needed material, equipment, tools, services, making clear what’s needed to succeed.
Management through example, work ethics, acting in compliance with the Group’s values.
Assist in planning budgets and schedule facility modifications including estimates on equipment and labor.
Manage facility vendors to provide equipment and facility modifications that meet Vesuvius speciation.
Perform audits for Identifying safety violations and potentially hazardous conditions.
Works together with safety, quality, automation, production, lean, in regard of maintenance/commissioning/audits/projects/8D.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills Needed:
Associate degree in a science field and 5-10 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Relevant manufacturing experience required (foundry, steel, concrete machines, ceramic tiles, kilns, Mining)
Supervisory experience required.
Basic computer skills Windows, Microsoft Office, Power Point.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within organization.
Basic Knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills based on objective data available.
Ability to facilitate effective meetings.
Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments focus on details and adhere to established deadlines.
Basic PLC knowledge, advanced PLC preferred
