Electronic Technician

Our customer in Dixon, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Electronic Technicians to work full-time on 1st shift. As an Electronic Board Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing electronic circuit boards and components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities of the Electronic Technician:

Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic circuit boards to identify component-level issues.

Repair PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) by soldering, replacing, and reworking components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and ICs.

Utilize oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools to test, analyze, and isolate problems.

Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to guide repairs.

Perform functional testing and calibration on repaired boards to ensure compliance with performance specifications.

Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, part replacements, and testing results in accordance with company standards.

Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to address recurring issues and drive improvements in board reliability.

Adhere to safety standards and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols throughout all repair activities.

Stay current with emerging technologies, diagnostic tools, and best practices in board-level repair.

Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics or a related field preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electronic repair at the component and board level.

Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits, and advanced troubleshooting methods.

Skilled in the use of hand tools, soldering irons, rework stations, and a variety of diagnostic and testing equipment.

Experience working with both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole components.

Ability to read and interpret detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals.

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Pay for Electronic Technician:

Starting at $17/hour.
