Medical Assistant

Medical Assistants provide physician support services that ensure that healthcare facilities run smoothly. They are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks.

Requirements:

Outreach to encourage the improved healthcare manage of the person served.

Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources; Optimize resources and opportunities through community linkages and enhance social supports.

Assists in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history and medication listing.

Completes all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with practices charting policy.

Prepares equipment and assists physicians with medical treatments, exams and medical procedures.

Administers prescribed oral medications and gives intramuscular and subcutaneous and intradermal injections.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Experience & Skills Required:

High school diploma/GED required.

Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program;

CPR/BLS certification is required;

One year experience working in a physician office;

Knowledge of substance abuse or related field;

Good verbal and written communication skills;

Ability to work effectively on a team.
