Test Technician

The Test Technician will perform a variety of technical tasks in support of engineering, quality control, production, calibration, laboratories and maintenance environments. The technician will work under the guidance of a cell lead to tests, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical, computer, laboratory and scientific systems and/or equipment. This role will be expected to work independently, taking the initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with team members as needed.

What You Will Do:

Support processes, engineering, quality control, calibration, and maintenance tasks within laboratory and production/test environments.

Perform tests using electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and computer systems, following established procedures and protocols.

Observe, analyze, and report test data accurately, supporting more senior technicians and engineers.

Utilize engineering and scientific drawings, manuals, and documentation to perform tasks, ensuring compliance with procedures.

Check work for correctness and adherence to guidelines, with support from more experienced team members.

Troubleshoot analog, digital electronic and RF (Radio Frequency) circuits, isolating problems between test environments and units under test; escalating complex issues as needed.

Select appropriate test equipment and configure it based on detailed test procedures, under supervision.

Communicate technical issues by generating clear and detailed failure entries that align with test procedure requirements.

Interpret test data, such as plots, graphs, and tabulated parameters, to assess pass/fail conditions and determine when further analysis is necessary.

Continuously improve skills through on-the-job training and mentorship from senior technicians.

Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians, guiding them in developing their technical skills, troubleshooting techniques, and independent problem-solving abilities.

Physical ability to lift equipment and work in various environments, at least 15 lbs.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment

Experience with electronic circuits and components

Experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes)

Qualifications We Prefer:

Familiarity with Radio Frequency equipment such as radios, radar and Electronic Warfare systems (preferred but not required)

Data entry experience with and industry ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) such as PRISM, Oracle E-Business, Microsoft Dynamics 365 etc
