Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required
Previous bartending experience required
ServSafe & TIPS or similar acceptable alcohol training certificate preferred
Experience with and passion for working with seniors
Experience with point-of-sale systems preferred
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities & Personal Characteristics
Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression - Must be able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular situation
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by residents and guests
Ability to stand for long hours and walk long distances without fatigue
Ability to bend, stretch, stoop and reach repeatedly without difficulty
Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly, to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
Ability to multi-task
Free of communicable diseases.
Utilize technology as a means of communication necessary to support resident needs and ensure operational compliance as well as resident safety and security
Typical Work Duties & Functions
Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the residence
Maintain professional appearance at all times
Complete opening/closing duties according to protocols set forth
Prepare drinks for residents and guests using recipes provided
Record any purchase of food or beverage into point-of-sale system accurately
Serve drinks to residents and guests
Have full knowledge of the entire food and drink menu, as well as daily specials, desserts, etc.
Provide attentive service, focusing on residents' and guests' needs
Clear and clean tables when residents and guests leave, return dishes/glasses to the bar area to be washed
Wash all glassware and maintain a sanitary environment in accordance with local health codes
At no time shall a drink be served to any associate on the floor unless with prior approval from General Manager
Complete daily beverage inventory and issue requisitions to maintain par levels as needed, using full bottle for empty method
Monitor residents and guests for intoxication and report such findings to immediate supervisor, General Manager or Director of Nursing immediately and prior to serving the resident or guest additional drinks
Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his or her attention
Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health and sanitation regulations
Ensure that all side work is completed before leaving property
Ensure that all restock and cleaning is performed at close of shift
Maintain records of inventory and purchases according to policy
Participate in on-going in-service and training requirements
Follow emergency procedures
Understand and comply with all Inspīr safety practices and procedures.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
