Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting the coordination of site Inventory Control department activities to ensure accurate preparation and handling of documentation and materials. Intermediate written and verbal communication skills, ability to work as a team, basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, basic knowledge of cGMP, OSHA, DEA, USP, and EP, basic knowledge of handling hazardous material, and ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack are required competencies.

Duties and responsibilities include providing support for shipping and receiving activities, assisting with receiving, checking, and verification of in-bound materials including small package, freight, temperature controlled, GMP and HAZMAT, assisting with preparation and shipment of out-bound materials including small package, freight, temperature controlled, GMP and HAZMAT, performing handling of materials within warehouse and facility areas using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, performing transfers to move materials to qualified storage areas, transferring raw materials and components to manufacturing, issuing out operating supplies to various internal customers, performing physical inventory counts, investigating discrepancies and performing recounts, completing and filing required documentation as applicable, conducting periodic safety inspections of warehouse areas and equipment, and completing regulatory training requirements on a timely basis.

Education and experience required include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year relevant work experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may substitute.

Working conditions include pushing, pulling, reaching, balancing, and/or lifting greater than 50 lbs. for 2 hours, approximately 5 times per week, standing for extended periods of time, up to 6 hours per day, working around hazardous materials to include chemical agents at least 0-2 years of experience in a cGMP warehouse environment and understanding of Supply Chain Management and APICS best practices for warehouse operations, working heavy machinery, such as forklifts, 8 hours per day. There is a health evaluation performed by a Client nurse. Client offers forklift training and qualification.
