Elementary Music Teacher K-5

Duties Donovan Elementary School is seeking a passionate and engaging K-5 Music Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year.

We are looking for an educator who can foster a love of music, create a positive classroom environment, and build meaningful relationships with students in a small, supportive school community.

Responsibilities: * Provide standards-based music instruction for students in grades K-5 * Plan and deliver engaging lessons that include singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, and basic music literacy * Organize and direct student performances (e.g., concerts and school events) * Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment * Collaborate with staff to support student growth and school initiatives * Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Qualifications Qualifications: * Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Music Endorsement * Strong classroom management and organizational skills * Ability to engage and motivate elementary-aged students * Experience with elementary music programs preferred Salary/Benefits * Competitive salary based on experience and education * Board-paid TRS (Teacher Retirement System) * Board-paid single health insurance (approx.
