MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA area

JOB DUTIES:

• Champion the development of prototype and production processes and equipment with primary development in molding processes.

• Participate as key member of APQP development teams to achieve flawless production launches.

• Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce scrap/waste, and provide daily support to production molding operations.

• Create and maintain accurate engineering/process documentation such as BOMs, routers, molding specifications, Process Flow diagrams, PFMEA, and operator work instructions.

• Support planning for expenditures relating to future production requirements; lead new projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A BSME, BSIE, BS CHEM ENG or similar type

• Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience in molding processes preferred and/or automotive experience.

• Hands on experience with troubleshooting of process equipment for mold, material or equipment problems.

• Good technical problem solving/analytical skills and mechanical aptitude are required.

• Experience in advanced engineering/statistical problem solving methods is required including DOE experience.

• Experience in PFMEA development.

• Competent computer skills- Microsoft Excel and Access is preferred.

• Must exhibit good communication, project management, and interpersonal skills and, given some direction, have the ability to manage their own priorities and workload while working in a team environment.
