Backend Developer(Web3)

We’re currently hiring a Backend Engineer with strong Node.js experience to join our Wallet team.

The team works on systems across Stellar, including backend infrastructure, developer facing APIs, and open source tools that support production blockchain applications.

About the role

In this role, you would:

- Design and build scalable backend systems for wallet infrastructure

- Develop developer facing APIs used across the Stellar ecosystem

- Contribute to open source tooling, protocol design, and RFCs

- Work on production systems handling blockchain transactions

- Collaborate on architecture, design reviews, and performance improvements

What we’re looking for

- 5+ years of software engineering experience

- Strong backend development experience with Node.js

- Experience with production scale distributed systems

- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Financial experience, Go, or open source contributions would be a strong plus.

About Stellar Development Foundation

The Stellar Development Foundation is a non profit organization focused on building equitable access to the global financial system through blockchain technology. The Wallet team plays a key role in enabling developers, enterprises, and users to interact with the Stellar network securely and at scale.

Compensation for this role is $170,000 to $260,000, plus benefits and grants, depending on experience and location.
