Own Project Launch. Lead project team on more than 2 complex committed customer applications. Follow programs from prototype build and verification testing through production launch. Program Managers play a role in supplier development, pilot build, production line development and launch, program launch, and overall ongoing program continuous improvement support. Plan, schedule, and control projects to meet established objectives for quality, reliability, and performance.
Manage Design Control of Assigned Products. Expert in understanding form, fit, and function of multiple product families and all components thereof. Leverage understanding to optimize assigned product in performance and cost. Analyze the impact of changes on existing products or operations and assess the compatibility with goals in all areas. Identifies and analyzes cost effectiveness and feasibility, driving cost reduction initiatives throughout the organization. Maintain prints, specifications, and documents to communicate function, form, and fit of assigned product and components, for internal and external customers. Leverage appropriate engineering tools (analysis, hardware, etc.) to support design, test, build, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
Cost Ownership for Assigned Products. Assist sales in cost model development, supply chain assumptions, and market requirements for assigned products. Actively pursue cost optimization initiatives supporting supply chain, manufacturing and application engineering. Understand and communicate product and program financial metrics. Develop and manage program budget from concept to production launch.
Provide Exemplary Customer Service & Communication. Work closely with customer(s) during program launch to execute requests, respond to questions and build collaboration across teams (both internal and external) as necessary. Analyze and resolve problems and provide technical assistance as necessary. Implement corrective actions.
Scale Steep Learning Curve. Rapidly expand product knowledge, abilities, and toolkit (Pro-E; hydraulics; magnetics; software – testing and engineering applications) to apply to product design and program launch. Ability to step update previous models to reflect design changes.
Demonstrate Project Management and Technical Expertise. Demonstrate technical expertise in project management including; scheduling, tracking, team assignments, allocation of resources, status reports, facilitate effective problem solving, and “selling” of new and innovative concepts. Function as a technical resource and cross-functional leader. Ability to integrate new or updated product information in BAAN. Partner with Product Director, Product Development Engineers, customers and suppliers to bring new products to market.
Collaborate with Other Departments. Interface between Design, Sales, and Production to ensure designs are acceptable for manufacturing and customer.
Supervise and Develop Employees. Direct Applications Engineering team to ensure timely and successful completion of projects and new product introductions in accordance with above responsibilities. Demonstrate core cultural competencies to subordinates. Provide challenging and stretching tasks and assignments. Attract, retain, and develop the best people from inside or outside the company. Assemble talented teams. Broadly share both responsibility and accountability with subordinates. * Bachelor Degree inEngineering,preferred emphasis in Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience including demonstrated ability to create, develop and implement new product or operations concepts.
* Previous exposure to product design, verification testing, supplier development and customer support.
* Knowledge of hydraulic control systems and their applications preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and suppliers.
* Ability to coordinate project activities across multiple functions.Demonstrated understanding of product launch process and the Automotive APQP process.
* Strong oral, written and listening communication skills.
* Knowledge of engineering drawing practices and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
* Ability to work independently.
* Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
* Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
* Authorized to work in the United States.

Fine manipulation is needed for PC work and use of other office equipment.
Visual requirements include ability to read and follow directions. This person may come in contact with office hazards; temperature and humidity are normal for this position and there are no unusual atmospheric conditions.
Will be required to wear personal protective equipment in posted areas of the plant, including safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
Total awareness of the plant environment as it pertains to the safety of other employees, operation of equipment, handling of equipment/materials, and visitors required.
