Summary
Plans and implements four 70-minute classes each day for students in grades 1-6 in an assigned arts discipline, including visual art, theatre, dance, or music; develops weekly lesson plans that are age-appropriate, align with the camps weekly theme, and foster creativity, skill development, and individual expression; utilizes best practices in arts instruction to achieve program goals; engages students in a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages exploration and collaboration; evaluates student progress and provides positive reinforcement to build confidence and enthusiasm for the arts; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy.
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelors degree in a related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or possession of a current, active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education required. Experience providing services and/or instruction to students, required. Current FCPS licensed teachers with an endorsement in the relevant fine or performing arts specialty, preferred. Demonstrated ability to engage students in active learning; effective use of instructional technology; and strong oral and written communication skills.
