Quality Inspector

Shift: 1) 7:00-3:00 (1st Shift) 2) 3:00pm – 11:00pm (2nd shift)

Position Overview

This position is responsible for completing required incoming, first article inspections, in-process, and final inspection activities per established documentation and documenting on required forms and/or electronically using Microsoft Excel. This includes releasing product once all required inspections have been confirmed acceptable or preventing product release when found unacceptable. Inspections include visual inspection for attribute features as well as dimensional inspection using various measuring devices. This position reports to the Quality Supervisor.

Basic Background Requirements

•Must possess a minimum of 2 to 3 years relevant work experience in a dimensional inspector position

•Must have strong background in precision measurement using surface plate/layout experience, calipers, height gauges, micrometers, microscope, comparator; CMM operation/programming a plus but not required

• Proven experience in the areas of Incoming, In-Process and Final inspection activities

•Must understand how to read blue prints and work instructions

•Must be able to follow detailed processes and procedures and have good documentation and communication skills

•Must be observant and very good at paying attention to detail with good concentration skills

•Good computer skills a must due to inspection and test results entered and stored on computer

•Maintain a general knowledge of regulatory requirements such as ISO 9001, etc.

•Works overtime as required

Short Term (0 to 3 months)

•Learn KEFAB Quality system requirements

•Learn Good Documentation Practices

•Learn and adopt Kimball Electronics philosophies and culture

•Inspect parts per documented requirements

•Records complete and accurate information

•Works according to procedure or work instructions

•Communicates concerns to supervisor and appropriate team member

•Maintains clean and safe working environment

•Maintains regular attendance according to the company’s attendance guidelines

Midterm (3 to 6 months)

•Proficient with KEFAB inspection requirements / system

•Works effectively as a team within the department and interface with other departments

Long Term (6 to 12 months)

•Works independently with minimal supervision

•Provides training for other quality associate

•Provides improvement ideas
