This role is for a skilled test analyst with a high degree of business process/acumen understanding for a variety of lines of business. The ideal candidate will be highly energetic and able to flex as a Scrum master and requirement analyst as needed to cover excess workload or key resource absence.A Test Analyst plans and conducts a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure allapplication products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. AllTest Analysts perform test planning, test design and test execution.A Test Analyst focuses on quality control rather than quality assurance. This means their testsand reviews are focused on the quality of the products and services themselves, rather than thequality of the processes that go into creating the products or implementing the services. TestAnalysts assess product quality and report product defect status and metrics to management on aregular basis. For example, they regularly conduct testing and static reviews.Though not a Test Automation Developer role, a strong candidate will have an interest and the aptitude to leverage test automation appropriately as a key component of an overall testing strategy.This role will play the Line Test Lead role for a Dedicated Nationwide Line aligned to the MCC BSA. Role accountabilities include:§ Provides leadership within the line, especially for other testing staff on the team§ Analyzes and reviews requirements and technical work products§ Defines and manages test plans, strategies, results reporting and metrics§ Designs test scenarios, scripts and data, then executes the scripts§ Identifies the appropriate test strategy mix of manual, automation, and exploratory testingmethods• Defines testing approaches for test data management, test automation as an asset,security/vulnerability, performance, and regression testing§ Validates test results and records and researches defects§ Coordinates and plans test runs and calendars for all impacted applications§ Maps requirements to tests and test results§ Prioritizes, defines, and manages defect reporting and resolution§ Manages defects including identifying, tracking, prioritizing, and providing critical thinkingaround resolution§ Leverages appropriate testing tools and techniques based on technology domain§ Identifies means to be more effective and efficient in testing, without compromising quality§ Considers and represents the end users’ experience during the software development lifecycle§ Aligns test data approaches and strategies with the Nationwide automated testing referencearchitecture§ Plans for Continuous Integration to enable Continuous Deployment§ Is proactive in managing leading indicators of quality in test plans and approaches§ Provides test leadership and incorporates test automation engineering practices in test plans§ Partners with Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) on test data management plans§ Manages test environments to enable stabilization and standardization across the EnterpriseTest Analysts also coordinate release tests. In this capacity, a Test Analyst:§ Executes release back-out plan testing§ Validates that release components are installed in the appropriate testing environment§ Sets the release test strategy (including all release life cycle testing phases)§ Coordinates all release testing efforts (including all phases of testing during the release lifecycle)§ Executes release testing according to the release test plan§ Identifies, documents, and reports release test results§ Addresses defects found in release testing and pulls the appropriate team members togetherto resolve open testing issues or testing questions§ Complies

JOB SUMMARY: With full competency, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. With this knowledge, develops or modifies complex information systems. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system log difficulties as necessary. Guides and advises less-experienced analysts . Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Manager/DirectorCORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Prepares detailed specifications, requirements, scope documents and logic flowcharts for the development and implementation of complex application programs and modifications.2. Conducts quality-control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Ensures complex project requirements are executable, testable, complete and not ambiguous.3. Analyzes complex systems requirements and existing business processes and information systems and develops cost-effective information technology solutions.4. Analyzes complex application systems issues and provides technical solutions.5. Validates complex requirements, including functional validation and traceability and consensus building.6. Tests and analyzes each component/phase of the systems development life cycle including the project requirements, design and programs. Develops complex test strategies.7. Executes complex tests according to established plans and scripts, documents and communicates results. Collaborates with developers and/or end users to determine appropriate solutions. Retests corrections to ensure problems are resolved.8. Leads in the development, implementation and maintenance of test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow.9. Performs complex activities related to User-Centered Design Analysis including the following: Conceptual Design, including UCD and end-to-end experience design; Interaction Design, including Information architecture and workflow analysis; Visual Design, including page design and rapid prototyping.10. Performs moderately complex user research and validation, including usability testing and contextual inquiry/analysis.11. Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science management information systems, business administration, Usability and Design/Human Factors, insurance or related field is preferred.Knowledge: Sound understanding of the Nationwide business. Knowledge of the Solution Delivery Framework and Methodology. Familiarity with development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Rational Unified Process (RUP). Knowledge in one or more technical areas that support application development, applications, or infrastructure components. Industry certification is preferred.Experience: Four to six years of experience in related IT profession.
