Overview
This role supports an inline Lean initiative within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. The position focuses on improving material flow, validating logistics processes, and ensuring accurate line-side setup. You’ll work closely with the Lean team and the client’s Logistics Specialist to audit production stations, document findings, and help drive efficiency improvements across the plant floor.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in Lean and logistics project meetings to understand priorities, timelines, and deliverables
Conduct detailed, station-by-station audits on the production floor, verifying part numbers, bin locations, labeling, and point-of-use setup
Validate material flow and ensure alignment with standardized processes
Document audit results, process gaps, and improvement opportunities in a clear and organized format
Communicate observations, progress, and recommendations
Support follow-up actions and continuous improvement initiatives based on feedback
Collaborate with Lean, logistics, and manufacturing teams to enhance line-side material presentation and overall efficiency
Assist in tracking project progress and sustaining improvements over time
Qualifications
BS in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations Management strongly preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes; automotive experience preferred
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
Detail-oriented with strong observational and documentation skills
Comfortable working on the plant floor and engaging with cross-functional teams
