Sr. Linux Administrator

Encore Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Linux Administrator experienced in Red Hat Linux administration. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Linux systems, with strong expertise in managing enterprise-level Linux systems, including Red Hat Satellite and strong scripting skills.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Linux systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS

Manage Red Hat Satellite infrastructure for managing software updates and patches

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support

Automate tasks using scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl

Implement and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM

Configure and manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, and Samba

Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Linux systems with other systems and applications

Ensure system security and compliance with company policies and industry standards, including implementing security technologies like firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and access control systems

Develop and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures

Manage software licensing and compliance for Linux-based software

Requirements:

5-7 years of experience in Linux system administration

Strong experience in Red Hat Linux administration and Red Hat Satellite management

Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl

Strong understanding of Linux security and compliance standards

Strong understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM

Experience with network services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, and Samba

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills
