Location: Sterling, Virginia Rate: $45/hr. on W2 Position Type: Contract Interview Process: Phone Followed by F2F US Citizen, Green Card and GC EAD

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Build, test and ship compelling experiences with a strong focus on the Android platform

Focus on UI design principles and make apps work intuitively, without compromising on simplicity and elegance. Familiarity with the tenets of Material Design required.

Optimize UI and application code for efficiency, reusability and performance

Participate in design and code reviews

Evangelize best practices around building mobile applications

Integrating with external and internal web services and interfaces

Providing and prototyping on constructive User Experience feedback, and developing prototypes quickly

Delivering testable and quality code that can be rapidly deployed

Communicating effectively and openly within the team

Grasping the big picture

Qualifications:

B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or alternatively at least 3+ years of mobile programming experience

Experience in object-oriented software development experience

Strong coding abilities and experience with Java and Android SDK

Experience with multi-threading, memory management and caching mechanisms specific to mobile devices

Experience with web development, including JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS

Passion for analyzing and improving run-time efficiency and memory footprint

Experience developing and testing apps across devices and OS versions

Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with video-heavy apps is a plus but not required

If you have a Github account that shows off your work that is a plus or if you can provide examples of your work that's an alternative to Github

Experience with iOS development is a plus but not required
