About the Role - What You'll Do Oversee repairs and maintenance of the MEKP production area and specialty peroxide production areas to ensure safe, reliable, and long term operability of all related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete routine maintenance inspection lists at scheduled intervals, including belts, bearings, greasing, and oil level checks
Perform daily inspections on each piece of production equipment
Disassemble, repair, and reassemble pumps used in MEKP production
Identify and repair line leaks involving air, steam, or chemical systems
Inspect spare parts inventory and ensure critical components are stocked appropriately
Inspect glass lined reactors for leaks and repair as required
Change difficult to access filters, including coalescer filters
Maintain and install polypropylene lines
Thread, clean, passivate, and install stainless steel piping
Research equipment issues using manuals, manufacturer support, and internal engineering resources
Perform boiler operator duties as needed
Assist or coordinate with specialists required for equipment repair in the MEKP production area
Perform backup duties in other key plant areas as required
Safety, Compliance & Operational Support:
Ensure unlimited availability, complete reliability, and safe operability of all MEKP production equipment
Maintain strong adherence to safety rules; this is a safety sensitive position
Inform and train new or untrained employees on hazards associated with assigned lines
Support safe operation of all maintenance activities across MEKP and specialty peroxide processes
Participate in cross department collaboration to resolve mechanical or operational issues
Maintain documentation and communication related to equipment status, maintenance needs, and safety concerns
Safety & Environment:
Maintain a proactive safety mindset and comply with all safety rules, PPE requirements, and maintenance safety procedures
Perform maintenance activities in a manner that ensures safe operation of MEKP production equipment and prevention of environmental releases
Quality Assurance:
Maintain equipment reliability to support consistent, high quality MEKP and specialty peroxide production
Ensure maintenance documentation is accurate and supports audit, reliability, and compliance requirements
Support ISO 9001, 14001, and Responsible Care programs
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or GED
5 years of maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to understand verbal and written communication
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and safely navigate congested plant areas
Proactive safety mindset with active engagement in all safety activities
Work Environment:
Chemical plant environment with exposure to MEKP equipment, piping systems, and specialty peroxide processes
Frequent physical activity including standing, climbing, bending, and lifting
Work in confined spaces or elevated areas may be required
