Environmental Services Worker/Housekeeper
The Environmental Services Worker/Housekeeper position is responsible for cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital. The Environmental Services Worker/Housekeeper position may be assigned to any one of several positions to include: patient areas cleaner, non-patient areas cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, and/or others positions as needed. Maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with the service excellence standards while interacting with patients, patient's families, (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) and coworkers.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting any and all rooms in the hospital.
Participating in project work that may include, but is not limited to wall washing, window washing, cleaning light fixtures, cleaning upholstery, changing cubicle curtains and drapes, cleaning vents, scrubbing restrooms, floor stripping, carpet extracting, etc.
Individual must have a willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continual basis, accept supervision from a number of persons, and perform tasks despite frequent interruptions.
Individual must have the ability to perform tasks with due consideration to patients, staff and visitors to the vicinity.
Works under close supervision performing simple, standardized tasks and is responsible for working within the safety policies and procedures as defined by Medi-Dyn and Northwest Texas Healthcare System's standards.
Report any unsafe working conditions or hazards to management immediately.
Immediate and reactive planning is required that may include: consideration for patients, staff and visitors; immediate judgment as to whether a particular task can be performed at a particular time or whether one can return to that task in the immediate future or not; assurance that the adequate amount of supplies and equipment are available to complete the task assigned.

Qualifications:
Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required:
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION: Ability to understand and communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Additionally, to be able to follow written and/or oral instructions, and to record completed assignments, required. A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
