Job Description
Operation of a rotary transfer machine is an asset. Previousmachine experience as a machine operator ina
aptitude and ability to do math, measurements, and use of precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers). Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and look for long-term work.
Responsibilities:
Set up multiple spindle bar stock equipment, involved in machiningstandard, on parts similar in nature, working with a limited range of materials
Set and adjust tools and tool holders, set stops, change collets ejectors and, adjust oil level, use a pre-setter to change drills,cuttersand tool holders,determineoperation sequences, andmodifyand adapt tooling for special parts
Check with supervisorregardingshortages of material or difficulties with tooling
Recommend changes in procedures tofacilitatemachining,assistin processing new parts or placing new equipment in production
Notify supervisor of any malfunction of equipment
Work from drawings, shop orders, sketches, manufacturer’s manuals, use a variety of precision measuring equipment tomaintainclose tolerances and finish requirements
Follow prescribed safety practices, including the use of safety equipment asrequired
Perform daily preventive maintenance procedures on department equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED
2 years ofHydromatsetup experiencerequired
Must be able to lift and maneuver bar stock on average of 25-50lbs
Bilingual a plus
Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours a day
Ability to critical think and troubleshoot
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 25-50lbs.
Ability to stand forlong periodsof time
