Bring your 4+ years of Swiss lathe expertise to precision manufacturers across the United States on 3–6 month assignments. As the on-site setup and prove-out specialist, you’ll program and validate new parts on CNC Swiss machines, then support production while sharing best practices with full time teams in tight tolerance environments.A day in this role

You arrive to a new shop ready to lead. For new part introductions, you take point—dialing in tooling, programming, and running first articles. Once machines are producing, you mentor operators, troubleshoot quality concerns, and keep parts moving.What you’ll handle

Machinist (Setup Lead)

Set up Swiss lathes to produce complex, close tolerance components

Complete end to end setups: swap collets, install new collets and tooling, and verify readiness

Select and adjust cutting tools for optimal results and tool life

Oversee up to two machines concurrently

Operator

Operating CNC Swiss machines running G&M code with integrated bar feeders

Make basic offsets and adjustments to maintain quality and manage tool wear; act as first responder for issues (no speed/feed changes)Assignment details: pay, travel, and support

Machinist: $38/hr

Operator: $32/hr

50 hours per week guaranteed

$45/day per diem (tax free), paid 7 days a week

Must pass a background check and drug test

Travel time compensation providedWhat you bring

4+ years setting up/operating Swiss lathes

Ability to read customer drawings and CAD models (often SolidWorks), apply GD&T, and work in both metric and imperial

Proven success in high mix, low volume work while holding very tight tolerances

Expertise choosing cutting tools and machining materials (primarily stainless; also mild steel and plastics), plus strong communication and mentoring capabilitiesTechnical strengths
