Katy Medical Complex Pharmacy Position Type: Full-Time Or Part-Time Overview Katy Medical Complex Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead our pharmacy team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of PIC experience and a proven track record of delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care.

This role requires a strong focus on patient safety, operational efficiency, and team development.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrescription Verification: Review and verify hundreds of prescriptions per shift to ensure accuracy and safety.Clinical Interventions: Conduct clinical interventions to optimize patient therapy and address medication-related issues.Sterile Compounding: Prepare complex sterile compounds including TPN, antibiotics, and inotropes in compliance with USP standards.Home Infusion Therapy: Oversee home infusion therapy processes, ensuring proper medication management and patient education.Drug Utilization Review (DUR): Implement DUR processes to assess the appropriateness of medication therapies and improve patient outcomes.Workflow Optimization & Error Reduction: Develop and implement strategies to optimize pharmacy workflows and minimize errors.Pharmacy Operations Management: Manage daily pharmacy operations, including staffing, inventory management, and compliance with regulatory standards.Team Leadership & Staff Development: Lead, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff to enhance their skills and promote a collaborative working environment.Order Entry & Remote Verification: Oversee order entry processes, including remote prescription verification.USP Compliance: Ensure all pharmacy practices are compliant with USP regulations and guidelines.Inventory Management & Waste Reduction: Manage inventory effectively to reduce waste and ensure the availability of medications.Patient Counseling & Provider Collaboration: Provide patient counseling and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.Software Proficiency: Utilize pharmacy management software (Epic, CPSI, Pyxis, CareFusion, Omnicell, Therigy, Outcomes, WellSky, ScriptPro, Liberty Parata, MedDispense, Microsoft Office) for efficient operations.

QualificationsEducation: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.Licensure: Valid pharmacist license in the state of Texas.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or in a similar leadership role.Skills: Strong clinical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
