Job Summary:
Resource International Inc. (Rii) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) group. This role focuses on the evaluation of infrastructure and pavement systems using advanced diagnostic tools. You will be instrumental in collecting, processing, and interpreting data from Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate in Civil Engineering, Geophysics, or Geology to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading technology while contributing to the safety and longevity of critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Execute site investigations using GPR (structure and pavement) and FWD equipment to assess subsurface conditions and structural capacity.
• Process raw geophysical and deflection data using specialized software to identify anomalies, layer thicknesses, and structural parameters.
• Utilize CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation) or GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS) to create detailed maps, cross-sections, and spatial data overlays of NDT results.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, summarizing findings for clients and senior project managers.
• Ensure NDT equipment and vehicle systems are calibrated and maintained to operational standards.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geophysics, geology or related field.
• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD) or GIS software is required.
• Familiarity with GPR or FWD principles is preferred; data analysis skills (Excel, Python, or MATLAB) are a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to project sites; valid driver's license required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to travel overnight.
