Assistant accountant

Specific Responsibilities

Supervise accounting staff

Manage month –end accounting close process

Maintain month –end, quarter –end and year-end working papers and spreadsheets

Review and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Review and approval of monthly journal entries

Maintain fixed asset sub-ledger


The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

A high level of communication, leadership and teamwork skills

Specific industry experience with operational and financial know-how

Strong management, organizational, analytical, planning and problem solving skills

A solid understanding of business functions, drivers and goals

Ability to effectively motivate and advise; able to manage change; to get “buy-in” to new business practices, and to create tighter business operations

Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet

Great Plains experience would be an asset
